Ashwood House is a traditionally built home set in a picturesque part of Callander offering beautiful panoramic views of surrounding areas. It is registered for 22 Residents and is set in delightful, mature gardens, which are very popular with everyone.
Ashwood House uses and promotes a person centred care approach maintaining and promoting the physical and emotional needs of all Residents. This is done with dignity and privacy at all times, through involvement from Residents with decisions about daily living.
Ashwood House provides a home in the fullest sense of the word, where care, comfort and sense of belonging are of paramount importance. We encourage residents to be independent and active. Our Activities Coordinator arranges a full schedule of daily activities to keep both minds and bodies agile, offering something to suit every taste.
Our Residents also very much enjoy our day trips out and about; again, with something for everyone.
Anyone considering moving into Ashwood House is welcome to visit the home as they wish accompanied by relatives or friends. You are warmly welcome to stay for lunch, evening meal or refreshments allowing you time to take in the atmosphere and meet with our Residents and Staff.
The Home’s Manager is a Registered General Nurse and holds the required qualification in Management. She has had extensive experience in caring for the elderly since she qualified, and is always happy to speak to Residents and their guests alike.
Ashwood House Residential Home is registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care.

Accommodation
We have 20 bedrooms decorated in traditional style over two floors. There is chair-lift access between both floors. There is a family room available if you require shared accommodation such as a couple.
A nurse-call system is at hand in your room to summon assistance and a staff member will come to your assistance as soon as possible. If you wish you can bring personal belongings including pictures, ornaments, keepsakes or small pieces of furniture to add to a homely and familiar environment.
As well as our large, comfortable lounges and dining areas, we also have quieter rooms, where Residents can entertain their visitors, or simply sit and reflect.

Cuisine
Mealtimes are very important at Ashwood House; both for nutritional and social reasons. We have a specialised kitchen which is perfectly equipped, enabling our cook and kitchen staff to provide varied and extensive menus, giving provision to individual choice and dietary needs. Our catering team prepares the main meals on the premises daily using local produce. Meals are served in the dining area however residents may be served meals in their own rooms at their request.
Early morning tea/coffee, afternoon refreshments are also provided with home baking and biscuits. These are also provided throughout any time of the day in accordance with individual choice.
